The effects of public spending for the Jubilee
According to an economic impact analysis conducted by OpenEconomics — also published by Milano Finanza — the event will generate €7.4 billion in GDP, €3.9 billion in tax revenue, and over 28,000 new jobs over the two-year preparation period.
The public spending for Rome 2025, amounting to €3.4 billion, will be fully concentrated in the capital, but its effects will ripple across the entire country.
The spending multiplier, based on OpenEconomics estimates, is 2.29: every euro invested generates €2.29 in national wealth.
Focus on Lazio: GDP, employment, and household income
The Lazio region will be the main beneficiary, with €3.9 billion in additional GDP, more than 12,100 new jobs, and €2.2 billion in household income generated. Lazio will absorb 100% of the direct effects of the expenditure and 53% of the indirect and induced effects.
Mobility and accessibility: the main spending items
The most significant line item among the planned investments is mobility and accessibility, which exceeds €1.5 billion. Key interventions include enhancements to the metro network and local public transport, with long-term benefits for urban livability and the sustainability of tourist flows.
