The impact of the 2025 Jubilee

An extraordinary opportunity, not only spiritual but also economic

Jubilee 2025 promises to be an extraordinary opportunity for the city of Rome, not only from a spiritual perspective but also an economic one, as highlighted in the economic impact analysis study.

The effects of public spending for the Jubilee

According to an economic impact analysis conducted by OpenEconomics — also published by Milano Finanza — the event will generate €7.4 billion in GDP, €3.9 billion in tax revenue, and over 28,000 new jobs over the two-year preparation period.
The public spending for Rome 2025, amounting to €3.4 billion, will be fully concentrated in the capital, but its effects will ripple across the entire country.
The spending multiplier, based on OpenEconomics estimates, is 2.29: every euro invested generates €2.29 in national wealth.

Focus on Lazio: GDP, employment, and household income

The Lazio region will be the main beneficiary, with €3.9 billion in additional GDP, more than 12,100 new jobs, and €2.2 billion in household income generated. Lazio will absorb 100% of the direct effects of the expenditure and 53% of the indirect and induced effects.

Mobility and accessibility: the main spending items

The most significant line item among the planned investments is mobility and accessibility, which exceeds €1.5 billion. Key interventions include enhancements to the metro network and local public transport, with long-term benefits for urban livability and the sustainability of tourist flows.
