Inrete joins the OpenEconomics Group

An integrated platform for economic analysis, institutional relations and strategic communications for businesses and public administrations.

With this transaction, the OpenEconomics Group accelerates its growth. Human capital, socioeconomic models and scenarios, stakeholder networks, and integrated and digital communications come together in a unified offering. The aim is to deliver effective, measurable responses to complex regulatory, economic and reputational challenges.
‍

OpenEconomics has completed the acquisition of 100% of Inrete S.r.l, one of Italy’s leading public affairs, institutional relations and communications firms, founded in 2010 by Simone Dattoli, with offices in Milan, Rome and Brussels.

The transaction is part of the growth strategy of OpenEconomics, in which Algebris Investments holds a stake. By bringing together two complementary strengths - the rigour of socioeconomic analysis and the ability to communicate and manage complex relationships—the acquisition creates an Italian-led integrated strategic advisory group in which human capital and digital innovation reinforce one another. Large businesses and public administrations will benefit from a trusted, practical and responsive partner, able to guide decisions and investments at a time of profound regulatory, technological, climatic and social change.

With Inrete, the OpenEconomics Group expands its offering to include public affairs and advocacy, strategic communications, media relations and crisis management. Scenario analysis and impact assessment thus extend naturally into dialogue between businesses and institutions, particularly at critical junctures and in responding to emergencies.

The transaction also includes the acquisition of a majority stake in Inrete Digital, the unit specialising in digital strategies, online channel management, data-driven reputation analysis and omnichannel campaigns.

Inrete will retain its identity and full operational autonomy. Simone Dattoli will continue to lead the company as Chief Executive Officer, heading a team of professionals whose expertise is one of the transaction’s key assets.

“In a context of growing uncertainty and limited resources, allocating resources correctly is not enough: we must demonstrate, credibly and clearly, the value that decisions generate for all stakeholders involved. In this field, OpenEconomics has developed cutting-edge expertise and tools that help decision-makers make more informed and sustainable choices. The integration with Inrete allows us to take a further step: supporting our clients throughout the entire process, from scenario analysis to public debate and institutional engagement,” said Gianluca Calvosa, Chairman of OpenEconomics.
‍

“This transaction opens a new chapter of growth and consolidation for Inrete,” said Simone Dattoli, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Inrete. “Joining the OpenEconomics Group strengthens the foundations of our ability to support businesses and institutions in increasingly complex environments. For over fifteen years, we have distinguished ourselves through our expertise in stakeholder governance, institutional relations, strategic communications, crisis management, media relations, events and digital PR. These capabilities are now complemented by advanced economic analysis models that deliver measurable results. We can therefore offer the market a unique platform that combines the precision of data with effective communication. We can translate analysis and regulatory context into actionable strategies, delivering tangible results for business growth and local development.”

OpenEconomics was advised on the transaction by EY for financial, tax and payroll due diligence, and by Cappelli Riolo Calderaro Crisostomo Del Din & Partners on legal matters. Banco BPM S.p.A. acted as the sole financing bank. Inrete was advised by Fndx and the law firm Gianni & Origoni.
